Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Head of the company, you will be responsible for delivering business growth through both direct market and community-based programs. You will lean on connections and knowledge of the industry and stay up to date on NDIS funding models, policies, and regulations. You will engage with new and existing stakeholders for business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sales and KPI Accountability
Proven ability to meet and exceed growth, occupancy, and conversion targets in a competitive SIL market, driving sustainable participant intake and business growth. Oversee new client intake.
• Financial Acumen
Strong understanding of SIL pricing, NDIS funding models, service costing, and financial modelling. Ability to structure commercially viable and participant-focused solutions.
• Strategic Business Development
Experience in developing and executing short- and long-term growth strategies aligned to organisational objectives and market capacity. Proactively identifies and secures new business opportunities.
• B2B and B2C Front-Facing Engagement
Demonstrated capability to operate effectively across both B2B (Support Coordinators, Guardians, SDA Providers, Allied Health, Brokers) and B2C (Participants, Families, Carers) relationships. Skilled at adapting communication to influence diverse stakeholder groups.
• Vacancy and Risk Management
Ability to actively manage vacancy pipelines, occupancy risk, and growth opportunities across multiple SIL properties. Collaborates with finance and operations to mitigate risks related to vacancy, revenue, and service continuity. Identify key areas for growth within the business.
• Relationship Management
Builds, maintains, and grows key referral partnerships within the disability sector. Converts networks into reliable referral streams and contributes to a positive market reputation.
• NDIS and SIL Framework Knowledge
In-depth understanding of NDIS legislation, SIL funding arrangements, pricing frameworks, and quality safeguards. Able to navigate complex funding scenarios to deliver sustainable supports.
• Client-Centric and Outcome-Focused
Commitment to participant outcomes through tailored, high-quality solutions. Balances commercial objectives with participant choice, control, and human-centred planning.
• Data-Driven Decision Making
Skilled in using CRM systems, market data, and analytics to drive business development activity, forecast pipelines, and provide meaningful performance reporting.
• Professionalism, Initiative, and Resilience
High-level influencing, negotiation, and communication skills. Self-driven, proactive, and resilient when faced with operational, market, or compliance challenges.
Skills & Requirements:
• Proven track record in sales, business development, or account management within the NDIS industry
• Proven ability to work flexibly in response to operational demands, including participation in on-call rosters and adjustment to business priorities as required.
• Existing networks within the disability or healthcare sectors
• Strong knowledge of the NDIS, and home care industry
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Highly motivated, results-driven, and target-oriented
• Ability to engage multiple stakeholders (care managers, nurses, case workers, etc.)
• Resilient and tenacious with a passion for helping people access quality care
