We're looking for a Language Services Coordinator, engaged on a casual basis, to support Think HQ's mission to deliver communications that include and represent every Australian in our diverse community.

As Language Services Coordinator, you'll keep all language services work moving smoothly and on time, from start to finish. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll use your strong communication skills to ensure projects meet client expectations, budgets and timelines.

Some of the tasks you'll be responsible for as Language Services Coordinator include:

  • Managing translation and checking jobs from initiation through to completion in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with translators and other vendors to schedule and secure translation work.
  • Coordinating Language Services and Translation requirements with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Supporting and guiding vendors throughout the translation process, remaining flexible as project needs evolve.
  • Maintaining meticulous attention to detail and strong Quality Control practices across all outputs, including translations, revisions, graphic layouts, video captioning and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Providing vendors with clear instructions, context and expectations to ensure the intended source message is understood.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing issues related to translators or translation quality, and escalating concerns to senior team members where appropriate.
  • Supporting Production projects, including booking talent and managing production schedules.

You'll be working alongside a collaborative, inclusive team who will support you every step of the way.

About you:

We work to recognised international quality standards (ISO 17100), so you'll need a relevant tertiary qualification in linguistics, translation and/or interpreting.

Other skills and experience that will set you up for success in this role include:

  • Knowledge of additional languages other than English
  • You have a strong quality focus and are able to do precise, accurate work under pressure.
  • You have excellent organisational skills and proven abilities in project management.
  • You are able to manage several projects simultaneously and respond to changes in work priorities and/or project schedules in a flexible and responsive manner.
  • You have excellent communication skills.
  • You are a strong team player in a multicultural and inclusive environment.
