A rare opportunity awaits for a Technical Director to join our National Infrastructure Services team at Fulton Hogan. Reporting directly to the General Manager - Technical, this role is based within our National Technical Services unit.

Travel is a key requirement for this position, as mobility is essential to maintain presence in the wider Fulton Hogan business and within the general industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical strategy, planning, and delivery for products, projects, and services nationwide.
  • Mentor and support technical staff, conduct peer reviews, and champion professional development.
  • Develop and oversee technical plans and schedules for tenders and projects to achieve business objectives.
  • Assess and mitigate risk in technical projects, implementing effective, practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, consultants and project managers to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Drive research and development, oversee new product development, and represent Fulton Hogan at industry forums.

How will you connect to the role?

You'll bring your extensive experience in the asphalt, bitumen and construction materials industry, with at least 20 years' field and design experience. You possess strong project management and technical planning skills, proven risk management skills, and a natural ability for leading and developing high-performing teams.

Your clear communication and collaboration skills will help you effectively articulate complex technical information, foster cross-disciplinary engagement, and confidently present Fulton Hogan's achievements at industry events.

A postgraduate qualification in an asphalt-related field underpins your technical expertise. You're driven to innovate, continually improve business process, and have experience developing alternate designs and coordinating new product developments. Your commitment to delivering practical technical support to operational teams, sound judgement, and analytical thinking will make you instrumental in advancing our industry and sustaining Fulton Hogan's reputation for technical excellence nationwide.
