About the role
The primary responsibility of the position is the delivery of formulation-driven therapy (psychological and psychosocial interventions) to consumers of public mental health services, whose behaviours are causing harm or putting themselves or others at risk of harm. The secondary responsibility of the position is the to work alongside treating teams to improve consumer outcomes and mitigate risk of harm to consumers, staff and the community. The position provides consultation-liaison community forensic services, with a focus on capacity building of other general mental health staff and Hospital and Health Service (HHS) treating teams (which may include training, mentoring and support).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Contribute to assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and delivery of targeted psychological and psychosocial problem behaviour interventions for eligible consumers of public mental health services.
- Deliver contemporary high level clinical therapy services based on valid and reliable evidence, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with a high degree of independence, to ensure patient focused outcomes.
- Apply latest evidence and high-level understanding of contemporary, clinical practice standards as relevant to the coordination of information and provision of mental health services and forensic interventions.
- Apply high level professional judgement and decision making to manage a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
