Do you like following a design project through from beginning to end?

If so you may be just the right fit for our open industrial design position. Our company prides itself on designing creative products.

This position will also focus on point of sale displays.

The designer will be responsible from initial concept and design to the testing and subsequent manufacturing implementation.

Position responsibilities are -

Working with clients in order to understand the design parameters required;

To create preliminary sketches illustrating product concepts, discussing them with clients for feedback to refine product design;

Using CAD software to refine designs, create virtual models; with rendered images.

Creating prototypes that are functional in order to evaluate their practicality and to explain the concept to other stakeholders.

Utilise CAD software to instruct manufacturing how to build the finalised product design;

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required -

An analytical thinker who is energised by solving problems through design;

Baccalaureate degree in industrial design;

Robust CAD skills,

Solidworks - solid and surface modelling;

An independent thinker who can easily adapt to a team approach.

Preferred -

Use AutoCAD;

Microsoft Office;

Adobe creative suite as appropriate for each project;

Knowledge of POS and vacforming;

Two (2) years experience in industrial technology and design;

Knowledge of the design techniques and tools involved in the production of technical plans, drawings and models;

The ability to consult with clients to determine their requirements for achievable designs;

Researching materials and manufacturing guidelines to determine production costs;

Presentation of designs and demonstration of prototypes to clients.
