About the Role
As a Field Technician – Fire Services, you will carry out routine and reactive servicing, testing, inspections, and repairs of fire protection systems across a range of commercial buildings. You'll work in accordance with Occupancy Permits, Australian Standards (AS1851) and the Building Code of Australia (BCA), and be supported by a collaborative and growing service team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled maintenance, testing, upgrades and installation of dry fire safety systems including:
Fire alarms and detection systems
Major fire indicator panels and evacuation systems
Fire extinguishers and hose reels
Emergency and exit lighting
Diagnose faults and carry out minor repairs.
Accurately complete service reports and log all work using Uptick service management software (training provided if required).
Ensure all work complies with relevant standards (AS1851), BCA, and site-specific requirements.
Communicate professionally with clients, site contacts and internal teams.
Promote and follow OHS/WHS procedures to maintain a safe work environment for all.
About You
Previous experience in fire protection servicing, building maintenance, or a related technical trade.
Familiarity with fire system compliance standards including AS1851.
A current Driver's License (essential).
Electrical License (desirable)
Gas Handling license (desirable but not required)
Relevant fire industry qualifications (e.g., FPAS accredited) or willingness to obtain.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
Experience with Uptick and other field service software is highly advantageous.
A safety-first mindset with a can-do attitude.
