Men in Cloud recruiters are thrilled to collaborate with a client who is urgently seeking a Cook.

Lido Cafe and Bar is a vibrant all-day eatery located in Belconnen, ACT, known for its hearty breakfasts, gourmet lunch options, specialty coffee, and modern Australian dishes. Their diverse menu spans from Italian pastas and risottos to burgers, curries, seafood, and freshly baked café items. They pride themselves on delivering consistent quality, warm service, and fresh flavours in a relaxed environment.

Lido Café and Bar is currently seeking a dedicated, qualified, and experienced Cook to join their passionate kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a key role in daily operations, bringing strong culinary knowledge, attention to detail, and efficiency to our kitchen.

Employment type: Full-time

Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum (depending upon skills and experience)

Location: Belconnen, ACT

Duties include but are not limited to:

· Prepare, season, and cook dishes according to our extensive café menu including breakfast and lunch items such as burgers, pasta, risottos, soups, steaks, salads, wraps, and croissants.

· Prepare sauces, gravies, dips and garnish to enhance customer satisfaction.

· Prepare dishes to meet special dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergen-sensitive requests.

· Operate and regulate cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers, ensuring precise temperature control.

· Monitor portion sizes and food presentation to meet Lido Café's standards of quality and consistency.

· Ensure food safety and cleanliness practices are followed, maintaining compliance with HACCP and ACT health regulations.

· Collaborate with the chef in menu planning, kitchen prep, and team coordination

· Store food appropriately in temperature-controlled environments to maintain freshness and safety.

· Adhere strictly to food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment and ensure guest well-being.

· Examine ingredients and finished dishes to ensure they meet our quality standards, addressing any discrepancies promptly.

· Contribute to programs designed to improve quality of service and kitchen productivity.

Requirements

· Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a café or casual dining setting.

· At least Certificate IV in Commercial cookery/Kitchen management or equivalent in a related field.

· Proven ability to handle a multi-cuisine menu with skill and speed.

· Proficiency in preparing a variety of hot and cold meals with attention to flavor, portioning, and presentation.

· Knowledge of Australian food safety and OHS.

· Australian work experience is must
