Data Engineer
Are you an experienced Data Engineer with strong technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills? Join a high-performing team delivering impactful data projects in a secure government environment. This is a great opportunity to support complex Defence initiatives in a collaborative setting where your data engineering expertise will directly influence national capability outcomes.

Location: Canberra

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with Defence business units, project managers, and system integrators
  • Prepare System Engineering Descriptions (SED) and detailed design documentation
  • Review and evaluate design documents from System Integrators and for new data projects
  • Provide technical hands-on support to the Data Engineering team throughout project delivery

Key Criteria

  • Current NV1/NV2 security clearance and Australian Citizenship are essential
  • Expert-level knowledge of modern data platforms (Cloud and On-Premise)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail when reviewing complex design documentation
