AMA Queensland is the peak professional body representing Queensland's doctors. We advocate for a fair, accessible healthcare system and support our members through expert advice, advocacy and connection.

We're seeking a strategic and hands-on Marketing and Communications Lead to elevate our brand, deepen member engagement and drive communications aligned with our values and strategic priorities.


About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead a small team and oversee integrated marketing and communications across digital and print platforms for a range of internal and external clients. You'll manage our website, email platform (Thrive), social media, publications and advertising partnerships — ensuring our messaging is clear, compelling and aligned with AMA Queensland's mission.

This is a leadership role with scope to shape strategy, mentor junior staff and collaborate across departments including policy, media, membership and events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver strategic marketing and communications plans.
  • Lead content creation across email, website, social media and video.
  • Manage AMA Queensland's website and Thrive email platform.
  • Oversee SEO and analytics to inform campaign effectiveness.
  • Promote advertising opportunities and manage related contracts.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members to ensure quality and alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support organisational priorities.
  • Uphold brand consistency and contribute to a values-driven culture.

About You

You're a confident communicator and strategic thinker with:

  • Proven experience in marketing and communications, ideally in advocacy, membership or healthcare.
  • Strong writing and editing skills across formats.
  • Familiarity with email platforms, CMS, SEO and analytics tools.
  • Leadership experience and a collaborative mindset.
  • A passion for member engagement and social impact.
