We provide personalised assistance and practical advice on a range of Employment Relations Management issues faced by boards and committees of community organisations, as well as practical advice and assistance for Industrial Relations matters when needed.

For that reason, we are looking for a number of experienced and passionate HR professionals to join our team in Kelvin Grove. These are casual positions, working 8-16 hours per week (or more as required by mutual agreement).

The Role

You will be providing advice to our members in leadership roles around best practice and legislative requirements on key Human Resources matters. This includes interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.

You will need to be highly organised, efficient, and accountable to stay on top of queries from our Members whilst also balancing other requirements of the position. Day-to-day your duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performance Management – supporting or actively managing employee performance matters, up to and including termination of employment
  • Investigations – supporting or leading investigations into allegations of serious misconduct, bullying and harassment claims etc.
  • Recruitment – supporting or actively managing the end-to-end recruitment process for entry level through to senior and executive level positions, including phone screens and interviews
  • Awards & Enterprise Agreements – supporting Members with queries on the interpretation of Awards and Agreements, as well as actively drafting Enterprise Agreements and lodging submissions to the Fair Work Commission
  • General HR & Payroll Queries – anything and everything that comes through from our Members via various means (shared emails, phone calls, online forms etc.) relating to HR, ER/IR and Payroll.

About You

To be successful in this position, your application should address the following criteria:

  • Qualifications and/or an equivalent level of experience in Human Resources
  • Previous experience in a HR generalist position with demonstrated background in industrial relations, payroll services and injury management
  • Thorough understanding of relevant HR legislation
  • Ability to interpret and relay Enterprise Agreement information
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skill with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, industry standards and HR best practice
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional communicator (written and verbal)
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project or workflow management systems experience (desirable)
  • Proactive, results-driven and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Empathy, self-awareness, and a strong desire to learn.
