Live-In Kitchen Hand - Lindeman Island Resort

Lindeman Island Resort is seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Hand to join our team on a full-time, live-in basis. This is a unique opportunity to live and work in the beautiful Whitsundays while contributing to the development of our exciting new resort. As a Kitchen Hand, you'll be a vital part of our kitchen and restaurant operations, ensuring a clean and efficient working environment. This role is on a construction site, so you must be comfortable with this type of environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Hygiene: Perform deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, including ovens, stovetops, fridges, and floors, to meet and maintain high hygiene standards.
  • General Duties: Assist with the washing and proper storage of dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans.
  • Restaurant Support: Help with general cleaning duties in the restaurant area, such as mopping floors and wiping down surfaces.
  • Waste Management: Manage and dispose of kitchen waste and recycling appropriately.
  • Stock and Inventory: Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies as needed.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with other kitchen staff and resort team members to ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Previous experience as a kitchen hand is preferred but not essential.
  • Work Ethic: A strong work ethic, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently.
  • Physical Fitness: The ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting and standing for long periods.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work an 8-hour day with a split shift schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment on a construction site.
