About the role

As the Workshop Foreman/Controller at Hervey Bay Auto Group , you will play a crucial role in overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the company's automotive workshop. In this full-time position based in Hervey Bay, QLD, you will be responsible for managing the workshop team, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and contributing to the overall success of the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of the workshop, including job scheduling, task delegation, and quality control
  • Manage the workshop team, providing training, support, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of productivity and customer satisfaction
  • Liaise with customers, providing updates on the progress of their vehicle repairs and addressing any concerns or queries
  • Maintain accurate records of all workshop activities, including job costs, parts usage, and labour hours
  • Regularly review and optimise workshop processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with the parts department and other teams to ensure the timely availability of necessary parts and resources
  • Promote a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience (5+ years) in a workshop control or management role within the automotive industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with customers and lead a team
  • Proficient in using workshop management software and other relevant technology
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle a wide range of workshop-related issues
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities to ensure the efficient operation of the workshop
