Civil Construction/Project Manager

• Based on Gold Coast in our new state of the art Head Office
• Working within the Civil Construction team

The Role

Reporting to the Civil Manager, the Civil Construction/Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily civil construction activities performed by Gemlife Civil in SEQ.

If successful, you would be managing and be supported by a dedicated team of up to 50 personnel including a Snr Project Engineer, Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Plant Operators and Labour. With the support of your team, you will be tasked with delivering Gemlife's Over 50's Lifestyle Resorts Civil Works, ensuring effective handover for Commencement of Commercial and Residential build Packages.

Responsibility for allocation of Gemlife Plant and Equipment and effective utilisation management, also comes under the remit of this role.

You possess a thorough knowledge of Civil Construction, Excellent Communication, Team Management, Commercial Acumen, Problem Solving, Planning and Organisational Skills. You are also a straight talking and driven individual that gets a sense of achievement from delivery outcomes. Good interpersonal skills with an ability to build on strong intercompany relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Management and Oversight of multiple active construction sites.
• Formulation and execution of accurate works programs in line with the delivery expectations set by the Civil and Development Managers'.
• Achieving project objectives for Safety, Environment, Program, Budget, and Quality to the very high Gemlife standard.
• Oversight of Construction Documentation for validity, accuracy, and constructability.
• Stewardship of contractor tendering and procurement to ensure optimal timing and budget outcomes.
• Weekly reporting on Construction activities status to key stakeholders.
• Assist the Civil and Development Managers with constructability reviews.
• Constant review of construction methodologies to ensure best practice is adopted.
• Assist the Civil Manager with Implementation of quality control and compliance standards.
• Assist the Civil Manager with active pursuit of innovation and efficiencies for all Construction activities.
• Cohesively work in with Residential and Commercial Managers to achieve the earliest possible delivery of Gemlife's Resorts.

What You will bring To The Role

• Proficient in all civil construction disciplines, Clearing, Earthworks, Pipework, Structures, Services, Concrete and Pavements
• Demonstrated experience in similar position such as Construction/Operations/Snr Project/Project Manager
• Ability to allocate plant, equipment, and personnel resources to ensure utilisation efficiencies.
• Large Subdivision, Group Title, Commercial and Industrial Project Delivery Experience Highly Regarded
• Computer Literate with exposure to design programs such as Auto-Cad, 12d.
• Ability to drive outcomes in line with business objectives.
• Procore Experience Highly Regarded.
• Commercial Acumen with an ability to assess and forecast budget targets.
• Excellent working knowledge Survey of GPS systems.
• Sound working knowledge of Geotechnical information.
• Network of SEQ contractors and suppliers highly regarded.
