We're currently seeking a Project Engineer with strong experience in civil construction, particularly roads, earthworks, and utilities, to join a leading contractor on a major infrastructure project on the Gold Coast.

You'll be working on the Coomera Connector, supporting the delivery of a high-profile road project alongside an experienced team. This is a contract position through to Christmas, with potential for further work depending on project timelines and performance.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the delivery of roadworks and earthworks packages on the Coomera Connector project
  • Prepare short-term construction programs and provide updates on project progress
  • Monitor financial outcomes including forecasting and cost control
  • Support and supervise field teams to ensure project performance targets are met
  • Manage daily contract administration and subcontractor coordination
  • Maintain compliance with HSEQ systems and contribute to a strong safety-first culture
  • Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams

About You

  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer in the civil construction industry
  • Strong background in roadworks, earthworks, or structures/bridges/utility services
  • Previous Main Roads (TMR) experience is highly desirable
  • Skilled in cost tracking, forecasting, and productivity reporting
  • Able to read and interpret in-ground services plans and assist with planning works
  • Proficient with construction programming tools (Excel, MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of site QA including ITPs, lot conformance, and MDRs
  • Comfortable leading pre-starts, toolbox talks, and contributing to HSEQ compliance
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
