Reports to: Director / CEO
Works with: Schools, Regional Delivery, Relationship Managers, Finance
Travel: 10–15 days p.a. to partner regions (Top End, Central Australia, Cape York, Hawkesbury), approx. 5 interstate trips per year for school presentations
Employment: Full-time | 6 weeks paid annual leave + days in lieu
About Red Earth and the roleRed Earth designs powerful cultural immersion programs with Traditional Owners and their extended family clan who host schools groups on their land. These are life-changing experiences for Traditional Owners and students alike, and we want more schools and First Nations homelands to access them
Your job will be to open new school partnerships, continue our relationships with existing schools, own the sales cycle, and bring in programs so our delivery teams can do their best work and deliver life-changing programs for students and our First Nations partners.
This is a golden opportunity for someone with business development experience to join a team supporting First Nations families to connect with young people across the country.
What you will doProspect and open doors
Build and work targeted school lists.
- Make outbound calls, follow up existing clients and have quality conversations every day.
- Book meetings with decision makers.
Run discovery and early meetings
Run initial and follow up meetings solo.
- Qualify fit, timeline, budget and match intelligently with our range of programs.
- Capture clean notes and next steps in our CRM (Microsoft Dynamics).
Proposals and pricing
Draft proposals in Canva using standard pricing sheets.
- Understand client needs intimately so that modifications from standard programs can be negotiated with the operations team in the given region.
- Follow up professionally to book Student Launches and Parent Info Nights.
Present with confidence
Deliver Student Launches and Parent Information Evenings confidently and eloquently (face-to-face and online)
Pipeline hygiene and handovers
Keep CRM current: contacts, activities, stage, probability, next action
- Hand off won opportunities to Finance and Relationship Manager with a complete brief.
Feed the product loop
Bring back structured client feedback that improves itineraries and materials.
- Front-line sales or presenting experience to schools
- Proven phone prospecting and outbound discipline.
- Confident public speaker with strong writing and proposal skills.
- High attention to detail, reliable follow-through, team mindset.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft 365 and comfortable in CRM (Dynamics 365).
- Experience in education, travel, outdoor programs or community engagement.
- Canva and Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency for clean proposals and decks.
- Drivers licence.
- Able to obtain a Working With Children Check.
