MDA Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd are advertising an opportunity for an experienced and capable URD Designer / Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. We are fully accredited Electrical URD Consulting Engineers for Ergon, Energex and Essential Energy.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Preparation of electrical design documents & specifications
  • Working on a range of commercial & residential sub-division design projects, as well as street & roadway lighting projects
  • Attend project, client, and site meetings
  • Establish and maintain client relationships
  • Ensure that designs comply with industry and authority regulations
  • Assist with the Business Development of MDA  Brisbane
  • Oversee progress on your projects.
  • Liaise with clients.
  • Attend  site inspections  and meetings.
  • Be responsible for preparing electrical design documentation in compliance with supply authorities' requirements & guidelines including
  • Local Authorities  (Councils) Main Roads and RTA
  • Energex, Essential Energy, Ergon Energy

  • Responsibility  for project delivery  and  co-ordination for the  following types  of projects

  • Residential Sub-division Design

  • Commercial Sub-division Design
  • External Street and Roadway Lighting  Designs
  • Large Customer Connections
  • Electrical  infrastructure design
  • Lighting   Selection  & design
  • Production of technical  specifications
  • Production & design documentation

Experience & attributes:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the consulting engineering field or allied organisation
  • Computer literacy & proficiency in programs such as LV Drop, AutoCAD, Perfect Light, etc.
  • Demonstrable electrical URD services design capability
  • Working Knowledge of,    Netwiew, ArcMap, Poles & Wires, Catan, Perfect Lite,
  • LV Drop, Agi32 Streetlighting, & PowerPac7  Software
  • Qualifications for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia are advantageous
  • Prior design experience with electrical infrastructure, LCC, schematics, lighting selection, etc.
  • Ability to produce technical specifications, production & design documentation
  • Knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes
  • Ability to effectively liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors
  • Ability to achieve results on multiple projects within deadlines
  • Full Australian work rights
