Stirling, Australia St Bart's Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

You'll walk beside our clients in their individual recovery journey, as they grow in confidence and work towards improved mental wellbeing, so experience in the mental health space is super important – whether that's through previous roles or relevant studies. You'll offer practical, consistent, and person-centred support as our clients work toward stability, independence, and renewed confidence.

From supporting them in their recovery journey, to building independence, meeting individual goals, and linking in with key services. Your role is hands on meaningful where no 2 days are the same.

You'll be the kind of steady presence that tracks progress, celebrates the wins (big and small) and brings calm, empathy, and encouragement to every step of the recovery journey.

A day on the job will see you:

  • Developing and adjusting individual support plans that are recovery-oriented and trauma-informed.
  • Working side-by-side with clients to set goals, celebrate progress, and build confidence.
  • Support clients in developing skills that may include independent living, community participation, personal choice and decision-making, managing accommodation, and improving physical and mental health and wellbeing.
  • Supporting medication management through a respectful, adult-to-adult approach.
  • Keeping clear and accurate case notes and other client documentation.
  • Conduct group facilitation.
  • Taking part in a weekly sleepover shift — a key part of providing consistency and support.

Your application will go to the top of our shortlist you have:

  • Have a minimum of a Cert III in Mental Health or Community Services, or you could be studying Psychology or Social Work and have completed a placement.

  • Bring previous experience in mental health or community services, so you can hit the ground running.

  • Understand recovery-focused, trauma-informed, and wellness-based approaches.
  • Communicate clearly and work collaboratively to find solutions.
  • Have experience supporting people with diverse and unique needs.

About Us

For 60 years, St Bart's has supported people experiencing homelessness and severe and persistent mental health issues as they rebuild their lives. We started as a small homeless shelter for men and have grown into a progressive and inclusive organisation providing support to hundreds of Western Australian men, women and families across four key service areas. Our goal is to provide safe, supported accommodation and services to people who need it the most, regardless of background, age, gender or ethnicity.
