As one of Australia's leading renewable energy players, our growing portfolio spans solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across NSW, Victoria, and Queensland. We're now looking for a proactive seasoned Project HSE Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting the safe and successful delivery of a large scale solar project.

The role is responsible for strategizing, planning, monitoring, and improving HSE systems and practices on site, ensuring compliance with Australian legislation, industry standards, and company requirements. This position will play a key role in fostering a strong safety culture, protecting the environment, and ensuring health, safety, and social performance risks

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement project-specific HSE strategies and plans across all phases of the project lifecyle.
• Ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation, environmental codes, and social performance standards.
• Lead on-site HSE governance, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Ensure environmental management plans are executed and environmental monitoring performed as per agreed timeline (e.g., dust, noise, waste,)
• Provide advice on technical HSE (i.e. construction safety, health, biodiversity land use, heritage management and community engagement)
• Drive a zero-incident culture, fostering proactive safety and sustainability practices.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless HSE implementation.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Engineering, OHS, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Certificate IV/Diploma in WHS highly regarded.
• 20+ years' experience in HSE roles within construction, energy, oil & gas or infrastructure projects (renewables preferred).
• Experience working on large scale projects to the value of $3-$4 billion
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001, Australian WHS legislation, and environmental frameworks.
• Proven ability in risk management, compliance reporting, and contractor engagement.
• Leadership mindset with a passion for safety, sustainability, and community responsibility.
• First Aid / CPR certification required (either current valid license or obtain via the company within the first 4 weeks of hire)
• Valid Australian driving licence essential.
• White card required (current card or the company will support to organise upon hire)
• Passionate about safety leadership and zero incident culture.
• Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work in a remote project environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Effective communicator and problem solver, with resilience in a fast-paced project setting.
