ESG Growth Lead

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Talent Nation Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

The Company

Our client, Purpose Bureau (PB) is Australia's largest ESG directory, delivering unique data solutions to help businesses meet regulatory, compliance, and strategic challenges amid shifting stakeholder expectations. Combining unrivalled data assets with ESG expertise, PB enables corporates to track and analyse suppliers, clients, and peers for Scope 3 emissions reporting, Modern Slavery compliance, and other ESG needs.

Their intelligence platform offers ESG data on business partners — like a credit bureau for sustainability and ethics.

Based in Sydney and working with forward-thinking corporates in Australia and beyond, PB is scaling quickly and aims to be the global source of truth for ESG data.

The Role

Following strong and consistent growth since 2021, Purpose Bureau is seeking an experienced ESG Growth Lead to drive strategic prospecting and corporate engagement. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on identifying high-potential organisations and guiding them into discovery meetings through partners, events, and creative outreach.

You'll manage a high-value prospect register, working closely with marketing and ESG specialists to secure meetings with decision-makers in sustainability, procurement, and risk.

As a senior sales professional, you'll lead consultative sales efforts, winning new clients across targeted sectors and directly contributing to revenue growth. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you'll also help shape products and services through insights from customer engagement, supporting both Australian expansion and global ambitions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture a robust sales pipeline through proactive lead generation and engaging new clients.
  • Lead outbound campaigns and direct outreach to high value contacts.
  • Develop strategic account plans and sales proposals by collaborating with ESG technicians to deliver compelling discovery meetings.
  • Own the sales process end-to-end, from initial outreach to contracting.
  • Contribute to an evolving product and service offerings with valuable insights from customer engagement.
  • Remain at the cutting edge through involvement in conferences, events and webinars and engagement within industry circles to build relationships and qualify leads.

About You

This newly created role will suit a candidate with experience working for or dealing with larger corporate organisations. You will have a strong business development and project management background with the ability to cultivate a network of high-potential clients, whilst maintaining a strong client base.

From a cultural alignment perspective, you are entrepreneurial and enjoy operating in an environment where you are required to roll up your sleeves and help the broader team. You thrive on engagement and can influence culture in an organisation that is at the start of their growth trajectory.

You are an impassioned advocate for the Sustainability transition, ready to make waves with cutting-edge data solutions. With a hunter's instinct, your background in enterprise sales in the sustainability space is just the beginning. Your strong network and a track record of success in consultative and solution selling makes you stand out.

Entrepreneurial and hands-on, you thrive in fast-growing environments, influencing culture and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.

Required Skills and Proficiencies

  • 5+ years in business development for large-enterprise sales
  • Experience selling ESG, sustainability, or data-driven services is a plus
  • Structured approach to pipeline management
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with a proactive, collaborative style

The Rewards and Culture

If you want to join a team of dedicated, smart, and genuine people who are super passionate about what they do: transforming the way sustainability teams manage the environmental performance of their portfolios, then this role maybe for you.

Other key benefits include:

  • A vibrant, inclusive, and impact-focused team in the ESG sector
  • Working flexibly between their Sydney HQ and home
  • Being part of a company that values innovation and cross-functional ideas
  • Competitive salary + novated leases + personal development support
  • Helping businesses navigate climate, labour, and ethical supply chain risks using world-class data
