The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Investment Governance Analyst to focus on policy compliance, implementation and uplift of NGS Super's investment governance frameworks and systems. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Governance, this newly created permanent, full-time role is responsible for maintaining strong governance standards, monitoring compliance with investment policies, supporting committee reporting, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, this position is integral in ensuring the Fund's investment governance practices are robust and effective.

Key focus areas include:

1. Policy, Frameworks & Governance

  • Draft, review and regularly update investment governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant prudential standards (SPS530).
  • Lead and execute the key procedures and policy review schedule, ensuring policies and procedures are updated on time ensuring necessary stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify and implement ways to monitor compliance with key investment related policies in an efficient manner.

2. Compliance, Due Diligence & Regulatory Oversight

  • Assist in the collation of material, artifacts and responses to respond to regulatory requests as required (APRA, ASIC, internal and external audit).
  • Report investment incidents on behalf of the Investments Team, as necessary.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Investment Governance with operational due diligence reviews and manager oversight as required.

3. Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Perform the half yearly compliance reviews of Investment Managers, summarising and recording review results, actions and monitoring requirements.

4. Systems, Data Governance & Vendor Management

  • Assist in the drafting of Investment Governance, Investment Committee and Management Investment Committee reporting.
  • Assist with the verification and sign off on investment related disclosure information (Investment Guide, Annual Report, PDS etc.).
  • Assist with identification and communication of any website and other public document changes relating to investment data.

You have

  • Demonstrable experience in governance, risk management and/or compliance, at a financial institution and/or a Big 4 accounting (or consulting) firm.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, implementing, and maintaining governance or investment-related policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Experience designing and embedding structured processes to support compliance with internal policies and external obligations.
  • Ability to understand regulatory changes, identify implications for governance processes, and develop appropriate responses.
  • Strong stakeholder management and attention to detail.
  • Strong research and written communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience interpreting and applying prudential standards, regulatory updates, and legal advice into internal policy frameworks.
  • Good understanding of investment structures, asset classes and how institutional investments are managed.
  • Understanding of audit processes, control testing, and rectification of governance gaps.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of legislation and regulation affecting a responsible superannuation entity (RSE), including for example the Corporations Act, SIS Act and/or prudential standards.
