Our Investment Management division constructs and manages client-centric investment portfolios for the NSW Government family. Through careful engagement with our clients, understanding their needs and bringing together our investment beliefs and comparative advantages, we deliver appropriately designed solutions. The Investment Analyst will provide investment research and analytical support to key activities of the Portfolio Construction team, primarily models and process enhancement, as well as further develop the internal investment capability and knowledge of the Portfolio Construction team through advanced quantitative research, analysis, modelling, internal process improvement and other value add activities.
The Investment Analyst will have accountability over these key outcome areas:
- Provide research, analysis, and support for investment strategy and asset class review projects as required.
- Contribute to data management, cleansing, and produce tables and charts that communicate data effectively.
- Quantitative portfolio modelling and research, supporting client specific needs and portfolio risk management.
- Prepare accurate and timely performance commentaries and risk reports as required.
- Work collaboratively on projects, new research ideas and opportunities with the broader Portfolio Construction and investment team as directed.
- Contribute actively to Portfolio Construction team meetings and to TCorp strategic objectives and outcomes.
- Support the development, documentation and review of Portfolio Construction team procedures and work processes.
To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate intermediate / advanced level understanding of quantitative models, Excel spreadsheets and one or more programming languages; sound analytical and quantitative skills with a high level of accuracy; attention to detail; a client focussed mentality; the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external stakeholders; be proactive in contributing to initiation and research to support superior portfolio construction decision making; highly adaptable with the ability to work in a team or independently as well as take direction from others.
