About the Role
The Infrastructure and Health Support Services (IHSS) Group is responsible for the infrastructure delivery and maintenance and a diverse array of non-clinical support services with the primary focus of delivering timely patient centric solutions across the CHS organisation.
The Canberra Hospital and off-site facilities contain a myriad of highly sophisticated integrated specialised engineering systems that provide vital services to staff, patients, and visitors. The continuity of the engineering plant and equipment is critical to patient safety and is a key focus of the FM operational responsibilities. The Senior Director Maintenance and Service Delivery will be accountable for the effective implementation of maintenance activities across the CHS property portfolio.
This includes accountability for, and oversight of the following FM services:
- Canberra Hospital facilities management
- A large maintenance team with over thirty (30) personnel including senior managers and trade staff.
- Offsite facilities management (sites other than Canberra Hospital, excluding North Canberra Hospital)
In leading a team, the Senior Director will ensure that maintenance activities are delivered and are compliant with Australian Standards, Facilities Management (FM) standard inclusions and engineering guidelines. The role will collaborate with other FM Senior Director's and the IHSS Executive Group Manager to proactively manage complex building services to maintain service and building compliance, ensure continuity of operation and to minimise unexpected building service outages.
The role will be responsible for the financial management of maintenance works across the portfolio to ensure that maintenance works are delivered within budget, with financial risks identified and escalated to the IHSS EGM.
Extensive facilities management experience and highly developed organisational leadership skills will be required to execute the duties listed below.
