About the Role:

As the Principal Project Officer, you will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and innovative initiatives focused on a range of products, services and activities within the scope of the project to meet departmental goals.
  • Provide strategic policy and proactive planning advice on specific issues relating to the various projects and initiatives being undertaken by the unit.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and implementing high quality and innovative initiatives for school students and teachers, that contribute to the Queensland Quantum Academy and related commitments, and departmental priorities;
  • Monitoring data and impact;
  • Building collaborative and productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including schools;
  • Contributing to briefing materials, submissions, papers, reports and correspondence; and
  • Undertaking other duties as required to enable the department's objectives to be achieved.

It would be highly desirable for our ideal candidate to possess:

  • Personal drive and integrity to deliver projects and work autonomously
  • Commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Effective time management and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on complex projects to achieve required outcomes within set timeframes and on budget
  • Knowledge of relevant Queensland Department of Education initiatives, such as Equity and Excellence: realising the potential of every student and the Schools of the future STEM strategy.
