Our team is passionate about fostering independence, promoting rights, and driving positive outcomes for participants. We value innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional growth in a supportive environment that champions work-life balance and ethical practices.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dynamic team. In this leadership role, you will oversee complex behaviour support interventions, mentor our team of practitioners, and contribute to service innovation.

Aligned with the NDIS Workforce Capability Framework at an Advanced or Specialist level, you will lead assessments, develop evidence-based plans, and ensure high-quality, participant-focused care. This position reports to the Clinical Director and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on participants' lives while advancing your career in a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead holistic assessments and develop customised Positive Behaviour Support Plans for participants with challenging and at-risk behaviours, incorporating positive behaviour support principles and emerging technologies.
  • Supervise and mentor our team of practitioners, including supporting the team in delivering evidence-based, high-quality functional assessments, crisis intervention planning, PBSP implementation and staff training on proactive/reactive strategies.
  • Facilitate and deliver clinical supervision and professional development for our team of Behaviour Support Practitioners, nurturing their skills and expertise.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external agencies to monitor progress, adjust plans, and ensure compliance with NDIS legislation and best practices.
  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to demonstrate measurable outcomes, while auditing team adherence to policies.
  • Build trusted relationships with participants, prioritising their voices, rights, and choices in all interactions.
  • Contribute to organisational innovation, such as integrating digital tools for behaviour tracking or telehealth services.
  • Participate in reviews, provide clinical reports, and facilitate group sessions or conflict resolution.
  • Ensure effective communication, adapting to diverse needs and addressing barriers inclusively.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • NDIS registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Advanced or Specialist level under the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work (with AASW registration), Education, or BACB qualifications.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in behaviour support, including working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and complex diagnoses.
  • Proven supervisory experience, with skills in caseload management, team leadership, and training.
  • In-depth knowledge of NDIS standards, legislation, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Current Worker Screening and completion of NDIS Induction Module.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and crisis management skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieve billable hours per week through the delivery of direct participant support, assessments, and plan development.
  • Additional supervision KPIs, including mentoring sessions, team training delivery, and oversight of junior caseloads (targets adjustable based on team needs and organisational priorities).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of $115,000 - $134,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunities for professional development, including paid training, conferences, and access to the latest practices in behaviour support.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options and public holiday substitution.
  • Supportive team environment with regular supervision and wellness initiatives.
  • Commitment to work-life balance, with resources for managing stress and personal growth.
  • Meaningful work in a values-driven organisation focused on participant empowerment and innovation.

If you are a dedicated leader passionate about positive behaviour support and ready to elevate your career, we want to hear from you
