Who We're Looking For
Our people are united by a common belief: that we can outperform in everything we do.

We are currently searching for an enthusiastic
Cost Planner
who is ready to further develop their career as part of our dynamic New Business team. Located in our Sydney Head Office or applicable Site Office, the Cost Planner plays a significant part in securing new project opportunities for the NSW business. Working across high-profile, large-scale construction projects, you will join an experienced team that understands the importance of a collaborative, focused and results driven working environment.

Role
At Multiplex, our Cost Planners are deeply embedded in the lifecycle of our projects. You won't just be crunching numbers - you'll be collaborating closely with design teams and project delivery teams from early concept through to 70% project let. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence design outcomes, shape project strategy, and ensure commercial success from the ground up. If you're looking for a role where your expertise goes beyond spreadsheets and into the heart of project development, this is it. On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Review and preparation of accurate estimates and cost plans.
  • Manage cost and design variations, scope changes, and assisting with pricing as required.
  • Develop strong commercial relationships with subcontractors.
  • Participate in post tender negotiations
  • Stay attentive of market influences and trends and be able to identify key risks or opportunities.

The ideal candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or similar. They will also have had prior experience in a Cost Planning or Estimating, tendering, or Quantity Surveying position within a large-scale commercial builder or related role in the construction industry. They will be comfortable and confident collaborating with the wider project team along with contractors on various design cost and precontract details. An understanding of building codes and compliance is a must, along with prior experience using Estimating software such as CostX.

A Note On Diversity
Diversity is about celebrating the ways we are all different and appreciating the unique qualities that every employee brings. We invite applications from people of all genders, cultures and walks of life. Research shows that women and people from underrepresented groups are less like to apply for roles if they don't meet every qualification. So even if you don't match all the criteria - if you are passionate about helping to construct a better future, we'd love to hear from you.

We are committed to providing a barrier-free work environment and can support with reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process. Simply inform our Talent Acquisition team during your conversation with them.
