Role:

Jungarni-Jutiya Indigenous Corporation based in Halls Creek, is seeking passionate individuals to join their team as Full-Time Support Workers.

Reporting to the Service Co-ordinator and Senior Case Worker, the Support Worker will undertake early intervention and preventative support work that builds the capacity of communities, families and individuals to address their needs using tailored case management services.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify issues impacting on clients and support required to address these issues
  • Work with clients to develop, maintain and review tailored Case Management Plans to address underlying issues
  • Develop an exit strategy for clients from the program that provides for the continued provision of external support where required
  • Engage families and community members with the service through in-house and outreach activities
  • Provide practical support alongside community members
  • Advocate with community members to enable them to better access services.
  • Identify and understand the role of relevant support services

Diserable selection criteria:

Demonstrated understanding and/or skills in:

  • Cultural competence
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Capacity to engage the local community
  • Ability to promote participation by service users
  • Ability to assist in the collection and analyse of service usage data
  • Relevant previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other service providers and funding bodies.

Candidates will be required tosatisfactorily complete a National Police Records Check, Working with Children Check and a 395 screening check from the Department of Communities.
