The role
NWSIL Pty Ltd is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Broome, WA. We do have a cottage on site for rent.
In this contract role, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with complex needs and behaviours within our Supported Independent Living (SIL) program.
What you'll be doing
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Implement behaviour support strategies and positive behaviour plans to help clients manage their complex behaviours
- Provide emotional support and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote their independence and wellbeing
- Collaborate with Allied Health professionals to ensure clients receive holistic and coordinated care
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with NDIS requirements
- Actively participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
What we're looking for
- Previous experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours, preferably in a SIL or similar setting
- Strong understanding of positive behaviour support principles and strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or Disability
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
