System Engineer with NV1 or above clearance

On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector I am currently looking for an experienced Systems Engineer who has NV1 or above clearance.

The role is being offered as a full-time permanent opportunity and will be based from client's site in Canberra.

As the Systems Engineer you will be working as part on a large high-profile Defence program working with systems that are highly technical in nature, and you will play an integral part in supporting project management of systems engineering activities including Systems Engineering.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role will see the successful candidate progress and manage the successful delivery of various engineering outcomes to achieve detailed system design.

Essential skills / experience to be considered:

  • Ability to produce, contribute to and review various Capability Definition Documents (CDD) like OCD, FPS, TEMP, and V&V Plans.
  • Requirements engineering. Gathering user requirements and translating into CDD.
  • The need to participate in and eventually contribute to working groups with multinational partners for alignment with future ADF deployed networks.
  • Understanding and experience with the Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC), now One Defence Capability Systems (ODCS), and supporting Gate reviews as required.
  • A sound understanding and ability to tailor the AUSDAF / DoDAF framework to produce required architecture artefacts for the WNA Project.
  • A demonstrated, high level of analytical ability.
  • A team player with the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships in a diverse and at time challenging organisation.
  • A strong risk-based engineering approach, ideally with its demonstrated application in a Defence ICT context.
  • A working understanding of the CIOG Plan, Build, Run model.
  • Support systems integration on to Platforms

Qualification Requirements:

  • Engineering degree, Qualification or Certification in Systems Engineering is highly desirable
  • Current and Active NV1 clearance or higher
  • Demonstrable experience of being a strong and effective communicator
  • Experience in Defence projects and Capability Development
