Position Overview:

As an In-home Family Support and Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. Working with some of Australia's best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives, in a nurturing and safe environment.

Our shift times vary between Monday to Sunday from 0600AM – 2200PM. No overnight shifts required Our rosters are done in advance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
  • Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
  • Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
  • Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
  • Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.
  • Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.

What You Need:

Hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar (see full list of accepted qualifications on our website)

Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher)

Personal vehicle with comprehensive insurance and QLD vehicle road safety certificate

Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

Current First Aid & CPR certificate

The ability to work a mixture of short, long, split and transport shifts
