About the Role

We are looking for an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing our automated document processing capabilities, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of information extraction, and ensuring the robust performance and scalability of our IDP solutions.

You will be a problem solver, constantly seeking to optimise our systems and processes, and will collaborate closely with other engineers and product teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions that transform unstructured data into insights.

What you'll be doing

  • IDP solution development:
     Support the development, testing, and deployment of IDP solutions, helping to expand the range of document types for classification and accuracy of text extraction.
  • Assess and improve information extraction quality:
     Assist in manual reviews to assess the accuracy of data extraction and implementing and optimising algorithms and methodologies to improve the accuracy of information extracted from various document types.
  • Support IDP infrastructure and performance:
     Learn to monitor and maintain cloud-based IDP infrastructure, assist in identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and ensuring efficient processing.
  • Participate in research and learning:
     Stay curious about advancements in IDP, computer vision, machine learning, and related technologies. Actively learn from senior team members and contribute to researching new techniques and tools by staying abreast of the latest trends and developments.
  • Collaborate on solution integration:
     Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate IDP components into services that Fortiro offers, assisting in the delivery of end-to-end automated document processing workflows.
  • Troubleshooting and Improvement:
     Identifying and resolving technical issues related to IDP solution performance and accuracy, contributing to continuous improvement efforts under guidance.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related quantitative field.
    (New graduates or those with 1-2 years of relevant experience encouraged to apply)

  • Foundational understanding of concepts related to document processing, data extraction, or automation.
  • Basic understanding of programming principles, with some coursework or project experience in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, particularly AWS, and a willingness to learn AWS services for deploying and managing applications.
  • Familiarity with IDP platforms, tools, and relevant libraries (e.g., Google Cloud Document AI, Amazon Textract, ABBYY, open-source OCR tools).
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude and a keen interest in tackling technical challenges.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn from and contribute to a team.
