The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Centre Cook / Chef to join our wonderful Calala team at our brand-new childcare centre. This is a rewarding role for someone who loves creating nutritious, delicious meals for young children and enjoys being part of a supportive, family-focused environment. As our Centre Cook, you will play an important part in promoting healthy eating habits and supporting children's wellbeing through nutritious food and positive mealtime experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and prepare healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks for children aged 0-6 years
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen that complies with food safety regulations
  • Cater for dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences with care and creativity
  • Manage kitchen inventory, orders, and food budgets
  • Work collaboratively with educators to support a healthy centre culture
  • Support our children's cooking classes, inspiring healthy habits through fun, hands-on kitchen experiences.

What You'll Bring

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous experience as a cook or chef in a childcare, school, or similar setting (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of child nutrition and balanced menu planning
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A positive attitude and a passion for cooking wholesome, healthy meals
