About the role

Bright Beginnings Early Years Learning Centre is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our team in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This part-time role will involve preparing delicious and nutritious meals for the children in our care, in line with our commitment to providing the highest quality early childhood education and care.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for the children, using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Ensure all meals meet dietary requirements and accommodate any allergies or intolerances
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with the educational team to incorporate cooking and nutrition activities into the children's program
  • Keep accurate records of food preparation and costs
  • Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the centre

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a childcare or educational setting
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and catering for specific dietary requirements
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the teaching team
  • Passion for providing high-quality care and education for young children
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current First Aid and Working with Children Check
