Area Manager
who leads with heart, drives results, and believes that every day is better with donuts.

The Role

As an Area Manager, you'll be the donut glue holding your stores together – supporting your Store Managers, driving performance, and ensuring every customer walks out smiling (and maybe a little sugar-dusted).

As an Area Manager, you'll oversee 12–15 company-owned stores across Greater Melbourne (East & South East), and select regional locations (such as Albury & Ballarat).

You'll lead from the front — coaching Store Managers, improving performance, and ensuring every store delivers joy in every bite.

You'll be hands-on, values-led, and commercially sharp, balancing people leadership with strong financial acumen to drive results across sales, wages, waste, and customer experience.

You'll coach, lead, and inspire your store teams to deliver on all the good stuff:

What You'll Do

You'll be a bit of everything – mentor, motivator, problem-solver, and donut enthusiast. Here's a taste:

  • Deliver results
    : Achieve and exceed regional KPIs across sales to budget, wage %, waste %, year-on-year growth, and category sales.
  • Coach for Capability:
    Provide on-the-job development for Store Managers and their teams — building confidence, accountability, and a strong succession pipeline.
  • Lead Commercial Performance:
    Analyse Redcat POS and Power BI dashboards to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Drive Operational Excellence:
    Partner with Store Managers to deliver full compliance in food safety, audit scores, presentation, and service standards.
  • Champion Customer Love:
    Elevate NPS and customer feedback scores by ensuring every store lives the Daniel's promise — fast, friendly, and fun.
  • Lead Turnaround & Growth:
    Identify underperforming stores and execute clear, supportive turnaround plans that restore performance and pride.
  • Lead Change:
    Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cross-regional operational projects in collaboration with other Area Managers and the Head of Retail Ops.
  • Drive Rhythm & Communication:
  • Weekly performance summaries
  • Fortnightly Store Manager huddles
  • Monthly regional reviews with the Head of Retail Operations
  • Engage the Community:
    Collaborate with Marketing and Store Managers to activate local marketing and shopping centre partnerships.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone with drive, passion, and a proven knack for leading high-performing teams.

Essential:

  • Proven experience in
    multi-site leadership
    within retail, QSR, or FMCG.
  • Strong
    commercial and financial acumen
    — you understand sales, costs, and profitability drivers.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing diverse teams.
  • Solid knowledge of
    food safety, audit compliance, health & safety, and presentation standards
    .
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable using
    Redcat (POS), Power BI, and Tanda (HR Platform)
    for data-driven decision-making.
  • A leadership style that's
    values-led, hands-on, and people-first.
  • The ability to lead with warmth while maintaining high expectations and accountability.
  • Flexibility to travel regionally and provide intermittent weekend/on-call support as part of a rotating roster.

Nice to Have:

  • Cert III in Leadership or equivalent experience.
  • Barista training or coffee know-how (we love a good brew).
