We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychologist to join our Child and Family Health team, delivering high-quality psychological and psychosocial assessments, interventions, and consultations for children aged 0–12. This specialised role focuses on supporting preschool-aged children as they prepare for their transition to school, offering screening, intake, assessment, and therapy in a nurturing and family-centred environment. What You'll be Doing

To deliver evidence-based psychological assessments, interventions and consultation in order to assess the needs of consumers within Primary and Community Health. This position will support the implementation of the Brighter Beginnings preschool health and development screening, and will provide assessment, early intervention, capacity building and direct care pathways for children in SWSLHD.

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.

Where You'll Be Working

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia & Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).
  • Can you provide an example where you independently assessed, planned, and implemented an intervention for a child aged 0–5 years, including how you evaluated clinical outcomes and adapted your approach for the child's family or community context?
  • Describe a situation where you worked collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to improve patient/consumer outcomes for a vulnerable or at-risk family. What strategies did you use to communicate effectively with different stakeholders and ensure quality improvement in service delivery?
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted
