About the role

Sun Construction Australia is seeking an experienced Accounts Clerk/Bookkeeper to join our Adelaide team in a full-time capacity. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, and supporting our overall accounting operations — with a strong focus on compliance with accounting standards and timely financial reporting.

What you'll be doing

  • Record supplier invoices, customer payments, and purchase orders - Full-function bookkeeping
  • Track and update fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Perform daily reconciliations and prepare bank statements.
  • Prepare and lodge GST and BAS returns in line with ATO requirements.
  • Assist with payroll and PAYG submissions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in our accounting software.
  • Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all financial data.

What we're looking for - Immediate Start

  • Diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Certificate IV acceptable with experience).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting or a similar accounts clerk role (construction industry experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, BAS, GST, and PAYG compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Dext and Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organisational/time management skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.

What we offer

Annual salary: AUD 55,000 – 75,000 (depending on experience)
