Take on big challenges and grow, through mentorship, collaboration and empowerment.Thiess is the place to make things happen.About The RoleThiess is currently recruiting a Supervisor - Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) for our Eva Copper Mine Project, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People, 75 kilometres north of Cloncurry and 95 kilometres north-east of Mount Isa.This role is being offered as a max-term contract of 12-18months, providing a great opportunity to be part of an exciting new projectWe strongly encourage locals in Northwest Queensland, including members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, to apply for this role on a BIBO basis. Depending on the successful candidate's location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane, with on-site accommodation provided.Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer- NPI, you will provide onsite construction engineering surveillance and management of subcontractors ensuring the safe execution of the Project.Key responsibilities in this role will include:Leading and enforcing Site compliance to all health, safety and environment mattersConduct regular job site inspections to assess performance and compliance with project standards.Actively monitor the work environment for potential hazards and address risks in timely manner.Demonstrating a personal commitment to the HSE Cultural Framework, policies, Critical Risk Controls and HSE Management System requirements and expectations.Development, issuing and management of any high-risk work including permitting requirements.Supervising external multi-discipline Subcontractors and Suppliers including civil, mechanical, structural, electrical disciplines.Liaising with the Senior Project Engineer and Construction ManagerCoordinate with clients and/or subcontractors to ensure work is carried out in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and scheduled dates.Driving works to the project schedule to ensure project milestones are achievedPreparing and delivering pre-starts and toolboxesCoordinating delivery of materials, plant and equipmentInsuring works carried out are as per the contract and are to relevant Australian and industry Standards.Managing internal and external interfaces with contractor/client personnel.Perform quality management representative duties.Provide daily reports on progress, non-compliance, and any work delays.About YouSupervisory tickets S1,S2,S3G2 risk management, G3 establish & maintain risk management certificatesMinimum, 5 years' experience in a similar role, working with a tier 1 or 2 construction companyComprehensive understanding of OHS legislation and regulations, including contractual, quality requirements, safety standards, and knowledge of industry construction processes and methodologiesProven experience in successfully delivering multi discipline construction projects >$10M within the resources industryDemonstrated capabilities to effectively manage and coordinate multiple work crews safely, both internal and subcontractor, to achieve project aimsDirect interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at required levelsExcellent planning skillsDemonstrated safety and environmental leadership behaviour and complianceDemonstrated success in driving team and subcontractor performanceStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to manage relationships with contractorsLeadership, problem-solving and influencing skillsAbility to work in a small project teamStrong attention to detail for quality assuranceA valid Australian drivers licencePossession of a White CardProficiency in the Microsoft Office SuiteWhat Thiess Can Do for You2/1 rosterFull camp accommodation providedIndividual flexibility arrangements on offer - Live local, FIFO, DIDO, BIBOHelp to grow your career, offering diverse and varied opportunities for advancementThe flexibility of working within a global mining services providerThe range of corporate discounts, including health insurance (Medibank), travel and retail productsSalary sacrifice options for novated leasingCompetitive package with the eligibility for annual bonus schemeAbout UsThiess works with clients in Australia, Asia and the Americas in the dynamic field of open-cut and underground mining.The pioneering spirit of our founders – the legendary Thiess brothers – is our legacy, and inspires our vision to harness the power of people and technology to drive sustainable change.At Thiess, you will have the opportunity to play a part in the global energy transition.
