About the role

Working as an Architect, you will form the core of a project team. In our studio, hierarchy is dismissed, and creative collaboration is at the centre of our everyday. You have a key function of leading small project teams and actively contributing to complex projects. With demonstrated competence through all phases of the project process, you will ensure that projects are delivered to the exceptional standard expected of our practice. You will foster and promote best practice methods in the design and delivery of projects while driving interdisciplinary teamwork and promoting the development of project teams. You will be an advocate for our values and support the practice's growth through your professional development and commitment to architecture. 

What you'll be doing

• Coordinate the project team in the development of the brief to obtain endorsement of overall objectives and concept by the client
• Develop complex design options in collaboration with the project team and have the ability to resolve advanced technical design challenges and take constructive responses to direction from stakeholders
• Prioritise and programme the deliverables for the project, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget
• Lead in the research and development of project materials and products thoroughly to ensure suitability and compliance
• Attend and ensure that all site meeting communications, directions, and agreements are accurately captured, recorded, and applied
• Effectively guide and direct team members and ensure the ongoing mentorship and development of team members
• Participate in design reviews to showcase your work

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification as an Architect or an equivalent overseas qualification
• Approx 6+ years of postgraduate experience and Architectural registration (ARBV or equivalent)
• Excellent knowledge of relevant provisions of regulations and legislation in so far as they relate to the practice, including climate impact, regeneration and energy consumption.
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant programmes used in practice (Revit, Autodesk, Adobe required | Rhino or 3DsMax is a plus)
• Competence in directing all phases of the architectural process with a clear understanding of project management
• Proven advanced technical ability, feasibility, and efficiency in the use of building systems and materials
• Capacity to operate independently, prioritise, resolve routine problems, and demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams
• A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and the ability to manage up and downstream from the role
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication, fluent in English – spoken and written
• Recognised skills and competencies in focus sectors and areas of expertise
