Tridon Australia, a leading Australian automotive and tool company, is currently seeking a candidate with automotive electrical or electrical engineering/technician experience for the position of Product Manager for its Matson Brand.

Reporting to the Brand Manager, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate a firm understanding of automotive electrical, and solar power as well as modern battery and charging systems.

This role is ideal for the right person looking for an opportunity to apply their low-voltage electrical and battery knowledge in a marketing and product development environment, while also retaining some hands on electrical elements.

The role and responsibilities will include product development, customer correspondence, supplier liaison, and long-term planning and strategic brand management.

In this role, you will carry out a wide variety of tasks, including;

• Manage and maintain products within the Matson brand
• Manage ongoing continuous improvement of products and ranges
• Assist the Brand Manager with overall product strategy and R&D requirements
• Assist with the development and execution of marketing plans and programs
• Develop and maintain product technical information required for cataloging, packaging, marketing, and sales support
• Evaluate market opportunities, review new technology, innovation and trends for new products, and market performance of existing products.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers
• Assist the Matson technical team with product assessment and repairs as required
• Provide internal, customer, and end-user technical support for Tridon's Automotive, Tool, and Equipment brands

What we're looking for:

• Automotive electrical trade qualification or electrical engineering degree, or relevant industry experience
• Demonstrate skills and experience with automotive electrical, battery, charging, and solar systems & equipment
• Experience in product development and management would be highly regarded, although not essential
• Possess sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs along with computer operating and mathematical skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
• Good organisational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail is essential for this role
• Professional presentation and ability to join a corporate environment

Knowledge of low-voltage automotive electrical, modern battery, charging, and solar systems is essential for this role. Previous product development and management experience is not essential but would be advantageous. Only applicants with recognised qualifications or experience will be considered.
