We're looking for a support worker to join our team at Euroa Care. This role is perfect for someone who is Determined to Be Different through building positive relationships and offering support to our participant in their daily life and activities.
Essential requirements:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid Certificate
- Valid Driver's License and fully comprehensive car insurance
- Police Check
This is a casual position with various rostered shifts across 7 days (including Public Holidays).
Duties:
You will play a pivotal role within the organisation and will be responsible for:
- Therapy Assistant - In line with a therapist approved care plan, provide personal assistance and support in a variety of areas including meal assistance, speech development and skill development.
- Personal Care - In line with the clients care plan, provide dignified personal care with bathing, hygiene, dressing, grooming, lifting, mobility and other personal care as required.
- Respite Care - Provide support to develop skills to live independently away from their family or primary carers.
- Social support - To encourage client to socially interact within the community or at home.
- Medication monitoring - To monitor and/or administer medication.
About You:
- Previous experience in working with children, adults, people with a disability rehabilitation, the elderly frail and their carers (highly regarded)
- Proven experience in providing quality services that assists people to maintain their independence, dignity, cultural values and religious beliefs.
- Demonstrated experience and performance in the key responsibility areas
- Ability to communicate sensitively and appropriately with, and understand the needs of frail older people and their carers from a diverse range of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to communicate with service users and their carers, staff and range of service providers. *Second language skills will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and report accurately to supervisor.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends.
- Ability and willingness to work in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to, a person's home and other community settings.
- Reliable vehicle (including valid registration and full comprehensive third party insurance).
- An understanding of safe work practices, proven experience in the use of appropriate manual handling techniques.
