Landscape Maintenance Team Leader Location: Sydney Metro area

Make great outdoor spaces look their best—lead a small crew across residential & commercial sites, set the standard for safety and quality, and keep the schedule running on time.
The role
You'll run day‑to‑day landscape maintenance across multiple sites, coordinating people, equipment and tasks to deliver neat, healthy, and safe grounds. You'll be hands‑on while mentoring crew members and communicating with clients and schedulers.
What you'll do- Lead and motivate a field crew; plan daily runs, allocate tasks, and uphold quality standards.
- Operate and maintain equipment: ride‑on mowers, line trimmers, blowers, pole saws, hedge trimmers, etc.
- Manual truck driving (light/medium commercial vehicles); safe loading/unloading and trailer handling.
- Weed identification & control: apply herbicides in line with labels/SOPs; keep simple spray and site records.
- Hedge trimming & shaping to specification; seasonal pruning and detailing.
- Tree pruning & chainsaw use for maintenance works within scope; escalate arborist tasks as needed.
- Turf care: mowing patterns, edging, fertilising, scarifying/renovation as required.
- Monitor plant health, irrigation checks (basic faults/leaks), and report issues promptly.
- Complete site audits, photos, and brief client updates; close out jobs in the app/paperwork.
- Champion safety: toolbox talks, pre‑starts, equipment care, and clean, organised work sites.
- Proven experience leading landscape/grounds maintenance crews and managing multiple sites.
- Solid horticultural knowledge (plants, turf, soils, seasonal tasks).
- Confident with ride‑on mowers and the full range of grounds equipment.
- Manual transmission truck experience and a current driver's licence; clean driving record.
- Competent with weed spraying and identification; comfortable keeping application records.
- Skilled in hedge trimming and tree pruning; safe and efficient chainsaw operation.
- Organised, reliable, and calm under time pressure; clear communicator with clients and team.
- Physically fit for outdoor work in all weather.
- Horticultural qualification (e.g., Certificate III/IV, Diploma, or equivalent).
- Chemical application certification/licence (or willingness to obtain).
- Chainsaw competency/ticket for maintenance pruning; First Aid preferred.
- Truck/towing endorsement or car license‑rigid (or local equivalent).
- Any general safety/induction card White Card

- Uniforms, PPE and quality tools; training & paid development toward tickets/certifications.
