Yard Person / Workshop Trade Assistant – South-Eastern Suburbs.

Our client is a leading Australian manufacturer specialising in the construction and repair of truck tipper trailers. They seek a versatile Yard Person / Trade Assistant to join their dynamic workshop team in Melbourne's South-Eastern Suburbs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Yard and Workshop Duties: Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard and workshop areas.
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload trucks and use a 12-tonne forklift to move trailers around the yard.
  • Material Preparation: Cut, punch, and prepare steel components as required.
  • Trade Assistance: Support tradespeople with various tasks within the workshop.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid LF Forklift License: Essential for operating a 12-tonne forklift.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand and assist with mechanical tasks.
  • Work Ethic: Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and take initiative.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
  • Residency: Must be based in Melbourne, Victoria, with the right to work in Australia.
  • References: Ability to provide contact details for two past employers.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a workshop or similar environment is highly regarded.
