Border Express has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and experienced Yard Tug Driver / MC Driver to join our PM team at our Cranbourne depot for the evening shift

Shift is Full Time 3:30pm – Midnight (hours may vary during Peak season)

Duties:

  • Driving a yard tug to move MC and HC trailers in and out of the depot
  • Move and reversing trailers through the depot and into allocated bays
  • Plan and monitor all trailer movements to ensure adherence to the operational schedule
  • Occasionally doing a transship run across to our sister depot in Tullamarine
  • Move trailers, unload and load trucks & keep freight flowing
  • Supporting smooth and efficient morning operations for our transport teams
  • Report any damages to freight or equipment to your supervisor immediately;
  • Perform visual inspections of each trailer's condition before moving and report any concerns to your supervisor;
  • Ensure that local yard equipment is positioned effectively in accordance with operational requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of recent experience in the transport industry is required.
  • A current MC drivers licence
  • A valid Forklift (LF) licence
  • Previous experience moving trailers around a depot and reversing multiple trailer combinations
  • Full-time evening shifts start at 3.30pm
  • Experience in interstate loading and unloading would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Experience in strapping is highly valued.
