The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior level Fire Protection Engineer to join our growing team. With solid local experience, you have a strong design understanding, are team and delivery focused, and have a positive attitude and passion for growth.
You bring outstanding fire protection experience, significant project management ability, and thorough technical understanding. You are confident when communicating and routinely demonstrate your ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, project teams, and internal teams.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Australian building services, ideally in building services consulting.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- Hold CPEng
- A recognised leader in your field of expertise.
- Extensive experience with Fire Protection (wet & dry) services engineering from concept to construction completion.
- Clear applied knowledge of local building codes and standards (BCA, Ordinance 70, NFPA and Australian Standards for fire sprinkler systems, fire hydrant systems, fire detection and alarm systems, compliance with local fire brigades).
- Practical knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and National Construction Code.
- Extensive experience leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary projects including managing client expectations.
- Intelligent and articulate verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with latest technology – REVIT/AutoCAD, BIM360, HYENA, Microsoft Suite including Office and OneDrive.
- Revit design and modelling experience highly regarded.
- Ability to multitask, balance high attention to detail with efficiency while meeting project commitments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical
- Deliver detailed design for all elements of Fire Protection, including sprinklers, detection and alarm systems.
- Carry out design calculations and return briefs, working to project timelines and budget.
- Problem-solve complex design challenges, delivering exceptional solutions for clients.
- Maintain technical understanding and knowledge base in Fire Protection.
- Satisfy codes, standards, project and quality requirements.
Project Management
- Project involvement through all phases, from tender preparation and design delivery through to construction support.
- Multi-disciplinary team coordination and project management.
- Project administration including scheduling, estimating and report preparation.
- Client/design meetings and site inspections.
Client & Team Engagement
- Direct client engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Hands-on mentoring and coaching of junior engineers and designers.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across all stakeholders.
