About the role - Performance and Access Manager (PAM) – Nurse Manager Grade 3:

As the Performance and Access Manager (PAM), you will play a pivotal role as the primary patient flow officer for John Hunter Hospital. This senior leadership position is accountable for ensuring the safe, timely, and effective transition of patients through the acute hospital and into the community.

You will be an integral member of the newly established Demand Management and Logistics Unit, working closely with line managers and the JHH leadership team to drive efficient patient flow across one of the state's busiest tertiary facilities. The position is strongly supported by the John Hunter Executive and the Demand and Logistics Manager, offering both guidance and collaboration as you take on this critical responsibility.

The Patient Flow Team is proud of its positive and supportive workplace culture, though the environment is highly dynamic, high-demand, and complex. Success in this role requires excellent time management, advanced problem-solving, and the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.

  • Hours of work: 7:00am – 3:30pm.
  • Orientation & training provided, though prior experience in patient flow management within a large facility is expected.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications in clinical leadership or management.
