About the Role
As our new Finance Officer, you'll play an important part in keeping our plan management team running smoothly. This is the perfect next step if you've already built experience in admin, accounts, or finance support and you're ready to take your communication and problem-solving skills to the next level.
You'll process and reconcile a range of invoices, monitor budgets, and use your proactive phone and email skills to assist participants and providers feel informed, supported, and in safe hands. You'll also help new customers understand what's possible so they can get the best out of their plan.
What You'll Be Doing
- Payment Processing: Beyond basic data entry, use critical thinking when processing claims, balancing compliance with creative solutions that help participants get the best from their plan.
- Payment Assurance: Check for risks, funding gaps, or claims that push plan limits, and follow up quickly to keep payments accurate and within guidelines helping participants stay on track.
- Budget Monitoring: Keep a close watch on participant spending, flag risks, and provide updates so funds stay on track.
- Onboard New Participants: Guide new clients through what's really possible, helping them understand their budgets and how to use their plan to bring their goals to life.
- Proactive Customer Service: Pick up the phone to resolve queries, clarify issues, and build trusted relationships with participants and providers.
- Data & Quality Checks: Assist with reconciliation, audits, and system checks to keep our records complete and accurate.
- Workflow Tracking: Use our digital tools to keep queues moving and backlogs low.
- Team Support: Pitch in with admin, reporting, or helping colleagues as needed.
- Admin Support: Help the team with reporting, file maintenance, and general administration.
What You'll Bring
- Highly desirable: Cert IV Bookkeeping
- A combination of education and work experience in a customer service or finance role preferred.
- You're confident on the phone and enjoy helping people solve problems.
- You're curious, open to growth, and eager to build real-world skills.
- You're comfortable with computers and enjoy learning new systems.
- You have strong attention to detail and take pride in accurate work.
- You're reliable, friendly, and organised even when things get busy.
- You either hold or are willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker
