The Venue Manager will oversee all operations within the venue, working closely with our Head Chef to develop menu designs, manage timesheets and staffing budgets, and handle inventory management. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing staff. The Venue Manager is expected to help ensure fast, efficient, and friendly service to customers, follow all venue policies and procedures, and lead by example. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Venue Manager will be a key senior member of both our beautiful Salamanca venue, and the wider Moo Brew team, as a true ambassador for our brand in a tourist traffic hot spot.
The Gig:
- Manage bar activations and inventory logistics, including stocktakes, wastage, and spoilage.
- Oversee staff's continuing education on Moo Brew's products and brand story.
- Manage all bookings, events and private functions.
- Liaise with dj's/artists during soundcheck and show time to ensure a good experience.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and managing bar staff and supervisors, and ensure ongoing support across 7 days of trade.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to design menus, and bar staff to create specialty drinks.
- Manage staff rosters, timesheets, staffing budgets, and safety requirements, ensuring compliance with RSA and OH&S policies.
- Oversee bar readiness for busy trade, including restocking, cleaning, and setting/removing furniture.
- Manage all venue maintenance needs if/when they arise with the appropriate contractors.
- Maintain bar cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to liquor licensing laws.
- Ensure seamless patron experience by working with other staff and stakeholders.
- Report to Moo Brew's General Manager on various aspects such as inventory, staff performance, patron safety, security matters, and incidents.
- Prepare, implement, and approve staff rosters and timesheets.
- Communicate menu changes and product information to staff, coordinate cocktail preparation and stock ordering.
- Ensure staff follow venue policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Assist with staff inductions, performance, and training.
- Manage emergency safety procedures and support management, staff, and patrons.
- Oversee cleaning, waste removal, venue pack-down, green room waste disposal, and arming the building.
The You:
- Experience in running a comparable venue.
- Experience and comfort in all areas of staff and team management.
- Able to foster a positive working environment.
- Passionate about craft beer and/or a willingness to understand our brewery-to-glass processes
- Sound knowledge of beverages and cocktail creation and delivery.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Good knowledge of food and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Confident in delivering and receiving feedback and managing conflict within a team.
- Efficient knowledge in stock management and relevant processes.
