About the Opportunity

As the Executive Services Manager – Communications, you will lead the Communications and Media team at MLHD, providing strategic direction across media relations, communications, publicity, and promotional activities. This pivotal role will be responsible for managing reputational risk through proactive media engagement and delivering impactful internal and external communications strategies.

You will partner closely with the Chief Executive, District Executive and Senior Leaders, offering expert advice and support on all communications and media matters. This role will be key to shaping MLHD's public image, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and fostering transparent, consistent messaging across the organisation.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or significant senior-level experience in communications
  • Proven ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate effective media and communication strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with confidence in managing and supporting a high performing team working to tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work flexibly and travel across the District as required
