About the role…
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide support for people with a disability and high support complex needs to live independently and maintain their best possible social wellbeing. You will support our customers to achieve their personal goals and provide a variety of one-on-one support including at home and in the community.
Being a customer-centric role, you will work with a wide range of complex customers around the Warrumbungle Shire.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high level personal care
- Supporting our customers to achieve their goals
- Facilitating individual & group activities
- Transporting customers to & from services & activities
- Maintain & establish links to community
- Promoting independent decision making
- Work within the principles of person-centred practice
About you…
You are a passionate and dedicated individual who is looking to make a difference in the community. As a people person, you pride yourself on exceptional customer service and the ability to provide a high level of support to our customers with complex needs.
You will also be able to clearly articulate and demonstrate:
- Experience using assisted technology (eg; various hoists and slings)
- Providing personal care support including showering, toileting, feeding and dressing
- Customers requiring meal management plans and care plans
- Experience working with customers with complex support needs
- Assistance with daily living (eg; shopping, appointments, activities etc)
- Flexible and reliable (essential)
- Driven, energetic & committed
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Essential Criteria:
- Criminal record check (essential or willing to obtain)
- Working with children's check (essential or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Workers screening clearance (essential or willing to obtain)
