The role provides general legal services working as either part of a project delivery team that focuses on the delivery of project work and the management of formal dispute process OR providing enterprise-wide legal services in relation to areas of delegations, governance, integrity, investigations an inquiries.
In this role, you'll:
You will be working as part of the Sydney Metro Legal team sitting within Legal, Audit & Integrity Branch.
This role will see you manage general legal matters primarily in relation to areas of governance, delegations, probity, investigations, and inquiries.
Reporting to the Director Legal, Integrity & Audit you will be a senior lawyer in the team providing solutions focussed independent advice to support the achievement of organisational outcomes, minimise legal risk and deliver on our commitment to our customers, the people of NSW.

About you
You are a seasoned lawyer who holds a practising certificate in NSW.You will have a minimum of 3-5 years post qualifications experience with significant experience in, or advising to, government.You are an experienced lawyer with advanced written and verbal communication skills, able to convey legal concepts clearly and succinctly.You will have experience handling complex matters with multiple stakeholders.You will be an experienced drafter, negotiator and communicator working closely with clients to drive practical outcomes.You are a resourceful person with a proactive working style, who can work autonomously and as part of a team.You will have a passion for law and enjoy working on a diverse range of matters. You will also enjoy working and collaborating as part of a hardworking and friendly team, including mentoring, and developing junior lawyers of the team.You will have outstanding communication skills and be able to successfully manage stakeholders and work with the broader legal team to ensure Sydney Metro's objectives are met overall (regardless of practice divisions).This is a 2 year fixed term opportunity.
