Senior Case Manager

We're the airline that's always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way.

But here's the thing about being different – it means we take workplace culture seriously. Really seriously. We're not just talking about compliance checkboxes or HR policies gathering dust. We're talking about the real stuff: the conversations that happen when no one's watching, the moments when someone needs to speak up, and the trust that holds it all together.

We need someone who gets it. Someone who sees beyond the surface.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Forget the corporate speak. Here's the reality: you'll be the person people turn to when things go wrong. The investigator who digs deeper than the obvious. The advisor who helps leaders navigate their toughest moments.

You'll be our workplace detective – uncovering facts, understanding human behaviour, and finding pathways to resolution that actually work. You'll conduct investigations that matter, not just tick boxes. You'll sit across from people on the worst days of their careers and help them find a way forward.

You'll be our culture guardian – spotting patterns before they become problems, coaching leaders through difficult conversations, and ensuring our values aren't just words on a wall but lived experiences for every team member.

You'll be our strategic voice – advising senior leadership on the real risks, the systemic issues, and the interventions that will actually make a difference. When we're in the Fair Work Commission, you'll be there. When we need to make tough calls, you'll help us make the right ones.

This isn't your typical HR role. This is about human psychology, legal strategy, and organisational change all rolled into one. It's complex, it's challenging, and it's incredibly rewarding.

You're Our Person If You...

Have the credentials – Graduate/Post-graduate degree in HR, Law, or Workplace Relations, plus 5+ years of investigation experience. You know procedural fairness isn't just a concept, it's a practice.

Can read between the lines – You've conducted complex workplace investigations and understand that every story has multiple layers. You can spot inconsistencies, ask the right questions, and remain objective even when emotions run high.

Speak fluent employment law – Awards, enterprise agreements, and regulatory requirements don't intimidate you. You navigate unionized environments with confidence and respect.

Are emotionally intelligent – You can deliver difficult news with empathy, support traumatized employees with sensitivity, and challenge senior leaders with tact. You understand that how you show up matters as much as what you discover.

Think strategically – You don't just solve today's problem; you identify tomorrow's risks. You see patterns, anticipate trends, and help organizations evolve.

Bonus points if you've worked in aviation (we love industry experience) or have tribunal advocacy experience (because sometimes we need to take it to the next level).

What We're Really Offering

Impact that matters – Your work will directly shape how 6,000+ people experience their workplace every day. You'll be part of building something genuinely inclusive and respectful.

Professional growth – Work with senior leaders, external counsel, and industry experts. Develop your skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Real support – A team that has your back, resources to do the job properly, and leadership that understands the importance of what you do.

The Virgin difference – Flight benefits, dynamic culture, and the satisfaction of working for an airline that's genuinely trying to be better.

Ready to Make a Real Difference?

If you're the kind of investigator who sees workplace issues as human puzzles to solve, who believes in fairness but isn't afraid of tough conversations, and who wants to help build something better – we want to hear from you.
